Jesse Deese - Acoustical Designer

From the beginning of my musical career I have been involved in electronics. My Dad gave me my first electric guitar for my 13th birthday (I should mention that my Mom gave me my first acoustic guitar for my 8th birthday). I got in pretty big trouble when I wired it into Carol's home stereo (well, home MONO technically). I built my first "studio" at age 15 in the barn of my Mom's back yard. This is where the power rock trio TRILOGY( Phillip Welch, Stevie Wright and I) would rehearse while the rest of our gang hung out on the roof and in the yard.

In the early 80's I was a guitar player for the United States Army band and I had a small budget to put together a recording studio at the rehearsal hall at Ft. Polk. I'll never forget my best friend Bobby "BOOM BOOM" Wheat crawling in and out of the mess hall dumpster to retreive the egg flats that were trashed. We had a deal with the mess sargent to save them for us but a few precious ones always ended up trashed and well worth Bobby diving for...lot's of laughs in those memories.

Then in the late 80's Mike Webb and I ran a studio together in Virginia Beach, MBM Studio. I designed and built VMG Studio in Atlanta in the late 90's and in mid 2004 designed and built The Loft Studio, recognized by Mix Magazine 2006 and Mix Magazine 2007 as one of the top new studios in the world .

My design style is rustic. My acoustic philosophy is thatĀ I like sound to behave the way it does in a natural environment - and I re-create that with combinationsĀ of soft porous woods and hard woods. I like the defusion of porous rock and design and build my own custom baffles and bass traps with different frequency absorption depending on construction technique, placement and room dimensions.

I can design and project manage your home recording studio, home theatre or large recording facility.
